    Regional Framework

    Objectives of this work would be to identify, evaluate and specify the mineral and ore prospects within a regional framework.

    Typical work includes →

    1. Appraisal of land and claiming rights.
    2. Compilation of available data on existing mineral and ore production reserves.
    3. Compilation of available mining and geological maps, drill logs, cores and other data.
    4. Compilation of available geophysical data.
    5. Field geological and geophysical work as deemed necessary for the circumstances.
    6. Collection of mineral and ore samples for analysis and assays.
    7. Preparation of mining geological maps and cross sections.
    8. Evaluation of the economic, geologic and mining data for conclusions with respect to the mineral and ore resources of prospects in the region. Prospects that warrant further exploration would be specified.
    Prospect Framework

    Objectives of this work would be to evaluate and specifiy the extent and range of mineral and ore resources within a prospect framework.

    Typical work encompasses evaluation of the aforementioned items in greater detail.

    3. Specific collection of mineral and ore samples/cores for analysis and assays.

    MINE DEVELOPMENT

    The objectives of this phase of work would be directed towards planning of mine operations and site development. Typical work includes:
    1. Economic and geological appraisals.
    2. Metallurgical studies.
    3. Stripping and grading studies.
    4. Stability studies.
    5. Water supply studies.
    6. Layout studies for mine facilities.

    REPORTS

    Reports are prepared with the clients use in mind.

    Ground Water Exploration & Evaluation Programs

    Objectives of this work would be to identify, evaluate and specify the ground water prospects within a regional framework. Typical work includes:

    3. Compilation of available topographic and geological maps, well logs, aerial photographs and other data.
    4. Compilation of available geophysical data.
    5. Field geological and geophysical work as deemed necessary for the circumstances.

    7. Preparation of geologic maps, cross sections and columnar sections.
    8. Evaluation of the topographic, geologic and geophysics data for conclusions on probable ground water resources. Prospects that warrant further exploration would be specified.


    PROSPECT FRAMEWORK

    Objectives of this work would be to evaluate and specify the probable ground water resources in a detailed context. Typical work encompasses the aforementioned and in addition includes:

    1. Specific evaluation of topographic and geologic maps, well logs and other data.
    2. Specific evaluation of geophysics data.
    3. Specific field geologic and geophysics work as deemed necessary for the circumstances.
    4. Specific collection of soil/rock samples for laboratory testing of pertinent properties.
    5. Specific preparation of ground water contour maps and isopac/facies maps.
    6. Specific evaluation of the geologic and geophysics data for conclusions on probable ground water resources. Prospect locations that warrant exploratory drilling would be specified.

     

    EXPLORATORY DRILLING

    Geologic consultation with respect to:

    1. Stratigraphic test wells.
    2. Prospect well locations.
    3. Prospect well logging/sampling.
    4. Prospect well testing/completion.

    Appraisal of site characteristics as related to soil/rock and geological/geophysical conditions with respect to site planning, site comparisons and economical considerations.

    EARTH WORK CONTRUCTION

    Use of locally derived soil/rock forms an ever important criteria in this field. Accordingly, accurate determination of the soil/rock behavior is a very important factor in the evaluation of the related use for foundation or embankment materials.

    Typical projects include:

    1. Earth Dams and Reservoirs.
    2. Hillside Grading and Developments.
    3. Roads and Pipelines.
    4. Earth Retaining Structures.
    5. Compaction Criteria.
    6. Slope Stability.

    FOUNDATION SOLIDS / ROCK ENGINEERING

    Surface and subsurface soil/rock investigations for engineering criteria form the basic activity in this field. Results obtained from field investigations, test borings and laboratory testing of soil/rock samples are analysized to determine criteria for:

    1. Structural Foundations - types, depths, bearing pressures, pile capacities.
    2. Site Construction Grading - soil compaction, subgrade, pavement.
    3. Site Construction Excavations - rippibility, slope stability, groundwater.
    4. Tunnels and Pipelines - subsoil pressures, bedding, corrosive factors, groundwater.
    5. Retaining Walls and Bulkheads - foundations, soil pressures.

    GEOLOGY AND GEOPHYSICS

    Geological mapping and subsurface exploration form the basic activity in this field. Results obtained are evaluated to determine criteria related to:

    1. Site Soil/Rock Conditions.
    2. Site Construction Grading and Rippibility.
    3. Site Construction Excavations and Stability.
    4. Site Drainage and Groundwater.
    5. Earthquakes and Ground Motions.

    Typical projects include:

    CONSTRUCTION INSPECTION

    This field is intended to supplement construction supervision by the design engineer and typically comprises compacted fill, cut and fill slopes, foundation excavations and drilled piles.

    Consultation may also be provided for soil/rock problems that develop during construction and special factors may include test pile driving, shoring, instrumentation for foundation performance, inspection of soil/rock strata exposed during excavation and dewatering.

    The physical and/or chemical properties of soil/rock may be determined by laboratory testing; tests may include shear resistance, unit weight, moisture content, unconfined compression, consolidation, swell and shrinkage, permeability, and other pertinent properties.
